Shaky Hands Video, 7/16/07 At The Silo

The best live band I’ve seen since CSS is Portland’s own the Shaky Hands, who I was privileged to catch recently at a new venue and recording studio called The Silo. The band was energized and charming in their delivery of the best collection of songs I’ve heard on one stage in… well, let’s just say I’m becoming a fan. Lead singer Nick Delffs’ catchy vocals and hooks owe a debt to understated pop masters like Van Morrison and the Violent Femmes, while overall the band seems dialed in to the stomping fun of Portland’s American roots revival, or whatever it’s to be called.
